„Strong and healthy colonies are at the heart of every successful harvest.“
José Eduardo Lagos Jara works in the Chilean region of Maule. The fact that he – in collaboration with his brother and brother-in-law – now takes care of around 300 bee colonies at ten different locations is the result of a conscious decision to support nature. He began his beekeeping career around 15 years ago, starting out with just three small colonies. Today, beekeeping provides a secure livelihood for José and his family, and they manage their business with great dedication and expertise.
In the vast plains of Chile, the bees find an abundance of nectar. José has learnt to attentively follow the rhythm of nature: Particularly during the crucial spring months, he takes proactive care of the well-being of his colonies in order to ensure that they can remain healthy while harvesting from the magnificent blossoms. For José, pollination provides the most valuable contribution towards the natural balance. It is a process that he protects and preserves every day – with great pride.
„Beekeeping grants us a lifestyle that is both in harmony with nature and sustainable – a lifestyle that supports our entire family while preserving the beauty of our homeland.“
